Lately, I have been seeing figs everywhere. There were so many things that I want to make with figs, but I wanted to start with something that will last for a little while, so I decided to make Fig Jam.
Figs are a common fruit in Argentina and families usually love having fig jam during Christmas and that’s probably because the Figs are only in season for 3 months. But if that wasn’t the case I believe all of us would eat figs all year round.
This jam is perfect for breakfast or with cheese. Yes, cheese! I know it sounds strange, but it is yummy!
In a large bowl, place the figs and sugar. Let those two ingredients soak overnight.
The next day, transfer everything in a large cooking pan and add the clove. Cook everything in low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Stir as needed
After the sugar has dissolved, add the lemon zests
Bring to boil for 30 minutes or until the mixture is very thick. Stir occasionally to help the juices evaporate.
