The Best Homemade Burger

When my husband and I started dating we used to hang out at a lake alot. After so many hours in the sun, we liked to eat a burger in one of the most famous restaurants in Lawrence, KS: Burger Stand at the Casbah. This place has the most creative Burgers and Fries. They have about 10 different types of fries, 7 types of non-vegetarian burgers and other 6 types of veggie burger. If you ever find your self close to Kansas City area, you gotta stop in Lawrence; check out the University of Kansas (KU) campus and try one of these burgers and fries. I swear it is not only me. I know lots of KU alumni that just come back to eat one of these burgers.

Now, this burger is not like the one sold at the Burger Stand at the Casbah, just because they are just out of my league. But I have to say that lots of times when I eat a burger in other restaurants, I wish they would focus more on the patty, less on a buttery bread and million of sauces. This patty is flavorful and delicious by itself. I hope you find this burger as delicious as I do.


  • 1 Tbs of Liquid Smoke

  • 1 lb of Ground Beef

  • 1/2 Cup of Bread Crumbs

  • 1/8 cup of Worcestershire

  • 1 Egg


  • Mix all ingredients very well.
  • Divide into 5 to 6 equal patties (Depending on prefered size)
  • Cook until desseried donness.
