Carne Asada Tacos
April 30, 2019

Before coming to San Diego, I wasn’t a huge fan of tacos or burritos. This was probably because of my introduction to tacos was in the Midwest. Tacos in San Diego are based on tacos you find in and around Tijuana. One of the most popular tacos in Tijuana is carne asada tacos, and so far these are my favorite tacos. I like mine simple, with a little tomato, onion, and guacamole. The below recipe are my take on the tacos I find here in San Diego.

Ingredients
2oz – Thin Sliced Sirloin Tip Steak
Tajin – Clasico Seasoning
1/2 Onion – Diced
1 Small Tomato – Diced
Cilantro for Garnish
Guacamole – Store bought or you can make your own (I recommend to add the sour cream or mayo)- http://idontcook.club/guacamole/
6 Corn Tortillas
1 lime
Directions
- Layout the slices of sirloin and season well both sides of each slice with Tajin seasoning.
- Place the slices in a Zip lock bag and Sous Vide @145 for 1 hour.
- While waiting for the meat to cook, dice the onion and tomato. If you are making your own guacamole do this now as well.
- After the sirloin has finish cooking. Thinly slice it into bit size slivers.
- To plate, warm the tortillas. Place meat, then onion, tomato, and guacamole. I squeeze a little lime over mine and then enjoy!
